Located in the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles, the Creek Bend Nature Center is a warm, natural setting for a wedding or party. The historic mansion of the 1930’s has been converted for use as a party venue and nature museum.
Outdoor weddings at Creek Bend are spectacular. Large green fields offer an inviting space for a ceremony. Or consider celebrating your nuptials beneath the giant tree, set apart from the mansion (be sure to rent a generator if you’re using recorded music or a microphone; there is no electrical power supply for about 300 feet).
You’ll arrange for your own catering and bar service; the venue doesn’t provide them, but it has a beautiful patio behind the mansion for cocktail hour. You may rent your own tent for a reception of as many as 300 guests, as long as you schedule its setup and removal with the venue in advance.
One thing to remember: your reception must be finished, and the venue must be fully cleaned up and closed by 11:30pm. So plan your start and end times to set aside ample cleanup time, and encourage your guests to volunteer their help in restoring the venue to its natural state. Just a few willing hands will make the job go fast.
